Multicultural, trauma-informed counseling for individuals and couples in Bangkok

“Only by learning to live in harmony with your contradictions can you keep it all afloat,” - Audre Lorde

Life rarely fits into simple categories. Many of us carry multiple cultures, identities, expectations, and histories within us. We can feel strong and uncertain, independent and longing for connection, confident and overwhelmed,
usually all at the same time.

Therapy can be a place where those contradictions are not problems to fix, but parts of a deeper story to understand.

Hi there!

My name is Tatiana Kunwongse. I am Thai, but I spent many years growing up overseas in Canada and Russia, and eventually, I made my way to Australia, where I obtained my Master of Counseling degree at Monash University. I am a member of the Australian Counselling Association.

I’m a trauma-informed counselor who works with individuals and couples navigating the complexities of identity, relationships, and emotional wellbeing.

In particular, I specialize in working with couples, teens and adults with ADHD, third culture kids and adults, people navigating disordered eating and addictions, and those seeking support around relationships, sex, and intimacy. Whether we are working on communication, emotional regulation, identity, desire, or healing from past experiences, our work together centers curiosity, compassion, and practical change.

My work integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Approaches for Emotional Regulation, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Integrative Sex Therapy. Rather than applying a single model to every person, I tailor therapy to fit your experiences, values, and goals.

What happens during a session? It’s really a mixed bag. Sometimes, a counseling session can be spent examining career paths. Other times, it’s exploring anxiety about making new friends, discussing gender roles, or reviewing strategies for stress-relief and self-care.

Therapy with me is collaborative, culturally aware, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be fully seen. Together, we create space to explore the parts of you that feel stuck, conflicted, or unheard, and help them move toward greater clarity and connection.
